Business Philosophy
and Historical
Information
The ACR gold seal of accreditation
represents the highest level of image
quality and patient safety. It is awarded
only to facilities meeting ACR Practice
Parameters and Technical Standards,
following a peer-review evaluation by
board-certified physicians and medical
physicists who are experts in the field.
Image quality, personnel qualifications,
adequacy of facility equipment, quality
control procedures and quality
assurance programs are assessed. The
findings are reported to the ACR
Committee on Accreditation, which
subsequently provides the practice with
a comprehensive report that can be
used for continuous practice
improvement.
The ACR, founded in 1924, is a
professional medical society dedicated
to serving patients and society by
empowering radiology professionals to
advance the practice, science and
professions of radiological care. The
College serves more than 37,000
diagnostic/interventional radiologists,
radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine
physicians, and medical physicists with
programs focusing on the practice of
medical imaging and radiation oncology
and the delivery of comprehensive
health care services.
Imaging for Women is accredited by the
American College of Radiology (ACR) in
multiple modalities: Mammography,
Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Ultrasound,
Breast Ultrasound and Ultrasound-Guided
Biopsies.

community
involvement
Imaging for Women was opened in 1997
by Dr. Mark Malley as Kansas City’s first
stand-alone women’s imaging center
because he envisioned a better way for
women to experience health care. He
wanted to extend high quality medicine to
all women in the community. Dr. Malley
built and grew the practice by gathering a
staff of dedicated personnel with a
genuine caring attitude and a zeal for
outstanding health care.
Now Doctors Troy Voeltz, Allison Zupon
and Lindsay Miner continue to lead the
practice with their passionate
commitment to patient care. Imaging for
Women offers patients the best possible
experience when they visit the facility.
They accomplish this by both utilizing the
best technology currently available,
including 3-D mammography and whole
breast ultrasound, and using certified
technologists who are chosen for their
skill at performing exams while showing
compassion to the patient. The exams are
read in real-time by one of the breast
fellowship trained radiologists. If any
additional images or exams are needed,
they are performed on the same day and
patients leave knowing the results of the
exam. If a biopsy or other special
imaging is needed, the radiologist will
discuss the need for this with the patient
and in some cases the biopsy can be
completed on the same day.
In collaboration with Bra Couture KC,
Imaging for Women has donated over
200 free mammograms annually to
women in need throughout the greater
Kansas City area.
Imaging for Women works directly with
Northland Healthcare Access to
provide more than $25,000 annually of
free imaging services to patients in the
community who are uninsured.
